Alice Cooper Wiki

"Something to Remember Me By" is the tenth track on Welcome 2 My Nightmare. The song was written by Cooper and Dick Wagner in the late 1970s, around the time "I Never Cry" was written. The song was not performed earlier due to Cooper's inability to sing the part. When the song was shown to Bob Ezrin, he convinced Cooper to put it on Welcome 2 My Nightmare because it was "the prettiest song (they had) ever written." Cooper has said that he found the part very difficult to sing even after a different composition was made, but was still very heartfelt. In the song, Steven is singing to a corpse from the preceding track, "Ghouls Gone Wild".

The song parallels the song "Cold Ethyl" from Welcome to My Nightmare in that the song is being sung to a corpse.
